Medical field

According to the properties of the materials, medical polymer materials can be divided into two categories: inert biocompatible polymers and biodegradable polymers. Bioinert polymer materials refer to materials that exhibit chemical and physical inertness in biological environments. They can maintain long-term stability in physiological environments, do not undergo chemical and physical reactions such as degradation, cross-linking, and physical wear, and have good mechanical properties. These materials include polyethylene, polypropylene, polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), silicone rubber, polyurethane, polyether ether ketone, polyurethane (PU), thermoplastic elastomer (TPE), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polyoxymethylene, polystyrene (PS), polyacrylic acids, polypropylene phthalamine (PAM), polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), etc. Polymer materials are gradually replacing traditional inorganic materials to embed metal (or alloy) glass, ceramics, apatite and other medical devices.
