The thickness of the mold insulation board is an important factor affecting the insulation effect of the hot press machine.


Generally speaking, the thicker the mold insulation board, the better the insulation effect. This is because heat transfer needs to pass through a medium, and thicker mold insulation boards increase the length of the heat transfer path, creating more obstacles for heat transfer during the process. For example, a thin mold insulation board may make it easier for heat to transfer from the interior of the hot press to the external environment, while a thick insulation board acts as a thicker "insulation wall" that can more effectively prevent heat loss.
From the principle of heat conduction, the rate of heat conduction is inversely proportional to the thickness of the mold insulation board. Under the same conditions (such as the same thermal conductivity of the insulation board material), doubling the thickness of the mold insulation board theoretically reduces the rate of heat conduction by half.
However, as the thickness of the mold insulation board increases, it will also bring some cost and space occupation issues. Thicker mold insulation boards may increase the overall size of the hot press machine, requiring higher installation space, and the cost of mold insulation boards will also increase with increasing thickness. So in practical applications, it is necessary to comprehensively consider factors such as insulation requirements, cost, and space to choose the appropriate thickness of insulation board.
